Aviation Career Exploration

Let your career take off with Avit Flight Academy’s Aviation Career Exploration! Geared toward introducing 9th and 10th grade students to the field of aviation, this 8-week program includes classes taught by certified ground and flight instructors, interviews with industry professionals, flight simulator time, and two introductory flight lessons that can be credited toward a future private pilot’s certificate.

In 2018, Congress provided the Federal Aviation Administration the authority to establish a federal workforce development program with a focus on introducing aviation to high school aged students. Avit Flight Academy (Wadsworth, OH) was one of 16 grant recipients nationwide and excited to bring this course to the community.

During the 8-week course, students will learn what it takes to become a professional pilot and be introduced to areas of aviation such as air traffic control, airport management, and cargo, and charter, and aircraft maintenance.

Class will be held every Wednesday at 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport (840 Airport Drive, Wadsworth, OH 44281) beginning October 26th, 2022, for 8 weeks.
