Avit Flight Academy is proud to announce the opening of its newest flight school location at Portage County Regional Airport (POV), expanding its reach to serve aspiring pilots in Northeast Ohio.
With a fleet of 4 aircraft and plans to grow to 15–20 aircraft in the coming years, Avit’s expansion reflects the growing demand for high-quality pilot training and aviation career pathways. The flight school brings with it over 8 years of experience, 7 Northeast Ohio locations, a dedicated team of certified flight instructors, and a proven track record of student success, including thousands of flight hours and hundreds of checkrides completed safely.
The new location allows Avit to better serve students from Portage County and surrounding communities including Solon, Chagrin Falls, Hudson, Aurora, Twinsburg and Stow — by offering convenient access to professional flight lessons close to home. In addition, Avit will continue to serve Kent State University aviation students, allowing them to fly at their own pace and without delays, close to the university’s campus.
